What is your role at tlc?
I operate as a Team Leader within the Block Management department. Overseeing a small portfolio myself while offering regular support to my peers.
What is your background?
I started my postgraduate career working in sound for television, and after a few years decided I wanted a new challenge so took a role working in the PBSA (purpose built student accommodation) sector, managing student accommodation blocks in London. I really enjoyed this position, gaining great satisfaction in helping the newly arrived students feel safe and secure while maintaining the upkeep of the building and providing the best platform for them to achieve their desired grades - all while making sure they had fun at the same time! Then in 2020, I made the adjacent move into management of residential properties, and was able to transfer the key skills I had learned into the world of Block Management.
What values drive you?
Guided by the principles of compassion and integrity, I'm driven by what can be achieved within society when we collectively work for a shared goal.
What are your objectives for tlc over the next 12 months?
To be the best block management team in RBKC. To provide regular training to my team and to push the current assistants to graduate and become Block Managers themselves.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
I play in a 7-a-side league every Wednesday evening with my friends. We’ve been going since 2014 and just recently won the league! Otherwise I am a big music fan and in the summer attend music festivals in the UK and across Europe when I can.
What is your favourite song?
This answer changes on a regular basis but at time of writing - The Clash – Train in Vain
What is one thing that might surprise people about you?
I wrote a book during lockdown! I still need to edit it, but I have 124 A4 pages sitting saved on my computer waiting to become the next best seller!
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
A Koala! They look like they live a good life!
What are three things on your bucket list?
To drive across Japan. I’ve been twice before but every time I leave I wish I was staying for longer
