Stamp Duty Calculator
Use our Stamp Duty Calculator as a guide to calculate the rough rate you’ll need to pay on your residential property purchase.
Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) is a tax on properties purchased in the UK. The rate you pay will depend on where in the UK you buy your property – England and Northern Ireland share the same rates, whilst Scotland and Wales differ. The rate will vary based on the price of your property and your reason for buying it.
Until March 31 2021, homebuyers will not have to pay Stamp Duty on homes worth up to £500,000. When purchasing an additional residential property worth £40,000 or more, you will be required to pay an additional rate of Stamp Duty, even if the property you already own is abroad. Calculations below reflect the new rates.
